| The laboratory uses a wide range of methods (electrophysiological, biochemical, molecular, behavioral, anatomical) to study the neurobiological basis of learning and memory. Specific areas of investigation include: • Experience-dependent plasticity in visual cortex and hippocampus • Developmental plasticity in visual cortex • Synaptic strengthening and weakening in visual cortex and hippocampus • Perceptual learning in the visual system • Neural network function and modification in visual cortex • Metaplastic changes in synapses, neurons, and neural networks • Models of autism and Fragile-X syndrome |
